Some OS key combos are captured by the system — that is expected, not a bug.

About this test

This test counts your maximum key presses inside a 10-second window (CPS — clicks per second). The first press starts the clock; the result line shows the live count with a millisecond countdown, then freezes as your final score.

How it works: every press travels the full input path — keyboard, operating system, browser — so besides raw finger speed, the score also reflects how healthy that pipeline is. Heavy background load shows up immediately as a lower count.

How to test: pick a comfortable key and hammer away for the full 10 seconds (switching keys mid-run is fine — the count accumulates). Hit "Reset" for another round and keep your best.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good CPS score?

Most people sustain 5-8 presses per second; rhythm and competitive gamers commonly reach 8-12; the best recorded runs sit around 14-16. Keyboard tapping usually lands slightly below mouse clicking.

Why did it stop counting?

The counter freezes automatically when the 10-second window ends, so late presses do not inflate the score. Hit "Reset" to start a fresh round.

Which key should I use?

A short-travel, light key (a linear Red switch, for example) works best. Keep your wrist relaxed and tap lightly with your fingertips for the steadiest results.
